Roy Chew is currently the Head of Learning & Organisational Development in GLOBALFOUNDRIES, a leading semiconductor company in the world. He takes care of employees’ learning and development needs, drives leadership culture change in the region and helps nurture the next generation of talent into leaders for the business. Roy started his career as an engineer after graduating with a PhD in materials science from the National University of Singapore and pursued a technical career path for several years before answering his calling and making a career switch into the area of learning & development. Since then, Roy has accumulated a plethora of experience and exposure in the area of L&D from various industries, including aerospace, transportation and luxury before returning to the semiconductor industry.

An advocate of lifelong learning, Roy has also completed his MBA from the University of Bradford as the valedictorian via the MDIS distance learning program, obtained various certifications including ACTA, the Certified Behavior Consultant program from IML, the SMU Certified HR Analytic Professional program, the Certified Knowdell Career Advisor organized by Ngee Ann Polytechnic, the Globesmart Profile Certification. He also obtained the SkillsFuture Study Award and IHRP Certified Professional status. In his free time, he also contributes articles to various HR magazines and post content on Linkedin.
