Dr Hwee Hoon Tan

Dr Tan is a tenured professor at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University. She earned her PhD in Management from Purdue University and chairs SMU’s Faculty Senate. From 2018 to 2020, she was the area coordinator of SMU’s Organisational Behaviour and Human Resources group.

Her research focuses on interpersonal trust within organisations. Dr Tan conducts executive training in English and Chinese for organisations globally, including Barclays and Singhealth. She also consults for the Singapore Tourism Board, IE Singapore, and APEC, and delivers keynotes at international conferences.

She has served on the Practices Committee of the Institute of Human Resource Professionals and sits on the Singapore Medical Council’s Complaints Committee. Her work has been published in leading international journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, and she sits on the review board of the Journal of Management.
