Carmen Chong’s role as the Director of People at Lalamove is to partner with senior leaders to work on organisational design, executive coaching, talent management and development to ensure it grows organisational capabilities to meet its ever-growing business demands. It is the company’s mission to focus on the professional growth of its people, ensuring they are aligned behind its core values of passion, grit, humility and execution and its mission of empowering local communities by making delivery fast and simple, and ultimately, its vision of making Lalamove synonymous with delivery.

Before Lalamove, Chong worked in executive search for more than eight years, specialising in recruiting investment professionals for blue blood private equity firms and hedge funds. She began her career as an associate at Korn Ferry Futurestep and was one of its founding team members in the Hong Kong and Shanghai office.

She holds a bachelor of social science from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is currently participating in an executive education programme at INSEAD as a candidate for the certificate of global management, focusing on leadership, coaching and business strategy for HR leaders.

She is passionate about all things people and believes culture drives the success of every business. Mother to Nate (three) and Keira (one), she is also a big advocate of workplace diversity and gender equality.
