When Sarah Fung left Lane Crawford in 2015 after a 9 year stint, she was disillusioned with the amount of clothing waste produced by the fashion industry as well as by her friends and colleagues, who didn’t know what to do with their excess wardrobe. Her solution was to set up online platform HULA for the resell of designer womenswear. HULA currently stocks over 5,000 unique pieces across 1000 different brands and has recently opened the very first pre-owned designer warehouse space in Hong Kong, as well as winning several awards; ‘Best Secondhand & Vintage Shop’ (Expat Living), ‘Person Making Most Waves in Fashion’ (Sassy Magazine) and ‘Top 50 innovative Retail Leaders’ (Inside Retail).

Born and bred in the UK, Sarah is a graduate of renowned Central St. Martins Art College. She spans over 20 years in the fashion industry, previously designing her own lingerie and swim label in London (stocked at luxury stores such as; Colette, Selfridges, Browns Focus, Henri Bendel and Lane Crawford) before relocating to Hong Kong in 2006. 

Having experienced both sides of the industry, Sarah understands the efforts that goes into one piece; from design, production to market, making it HULA’s mission to help prolong the life of well-designed fashion pieces and help reduce fashion waste – one of the most polluting industries worldwide.
