[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]Sandeep joined Mizuho Bank in January 2025 and was appointed as Managing Director and APAC Chief Human Resources Officer, overseeing all aspects of the people function across the region. <\/p>\n

Sandeep is an experienced human resource leader with over 26 years of experience having worked in Fortune 500 companies like AIG (Insurance) Standard Chartered Bank (Banking) and Johnson & Johnson (Medical devices) developing sustainable HR initiatives and driving employee engagement across complex multinational and multi-geography organisations delivering overall business value. He is a change strategist with deep knowledge of Asia serving in the companies above having successfully architected planned and executed various organisational efficiency programmes, essentially re-designing organisational structure to enable profitable business growth. <\/p>\n

Prior to joining Mizuho Sandeep served as the Head of HR Asia Pacific in American International Group (AIG) an insurance titan for five years. He was responsible for the leading the entire HR function and delivering the people and talent strategy for the region supporting a general insurance business with a topline of around USD2B. In the role he led a complex organisation restructure to support business efficiency carving out significant number of roles to Accenture to continue delivering the core business across Philippines, India and Malaysia. He reorganised business and HR teams to support business objectives of rapid growth and change resulting in a healthy growth CAGR of 4-6%. He designed and built the first integrated senior talent development programme for the region and a global skills\/ capability framework for talent identification and learning outcomes that promoted employee skill build and development and strengthened employee affinity and engagement. He championed risk management and governance and regulatory asks by actively engaging with regulators in Singapore and region including MAS in Singapore, Bank Negara in Malaysia, HKMA in Hong Kong and OJK in Indonesia among others. He instituted the first learning talent and DEI council for the region spearheading focus and ownership by business towards talent build and retention. <\/p>\n

Prior to AIG, Sandeep served for nineteen years in Standard Chartered Bank in various roles such as local & regional HR Business partner Business unit, country HR Risk and Service Delivery Leader, HR Lead Startup, HR lead M&A, HR Lead, Country, Global HR Leader for Risk. He worked in front and middle office HR roles delivering business value to units he supported and was deputed to Bangladesh and Singapore from India. <\/p>\n

Sandeep started his career in Johnson & Johnson in India as a Graduate Associate in Human Resources and spent two years learning and contributing to all aspects of HR in its medical devices division. <\/p>\n

Sandeep holds a post graduate diploma in business administration in HR and graduated as a Bachelor of Economics from India. His interests are spending time with his family learning about new cultures, travelling, Technology, music and keeping fit.
