Ulya Himmawati brings over 20 years of extensive human resources experience across diverse sectors, including pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and property & developer industries, with a strong focus on strategic HR leadership and organisational development. Currently serving as HR Director at Takeda Innovative Medicines, overseeing both Takeda Indonesia and Takeda Innovative Medicines, she has successfully led initiatives that earned her organisation the prestigious Global Top Employer certification for five consecutive years from 2018 ~ 2022, followed by the more recent recognition for Takeda as a “Great Place to Work”.

Ulya has played a pivotal role in executing major company transformations, including splitting legal entities seamlessly without any people-related issues. Dedicated to creating impactful employee experiences, her approach combines a human-centric perspective with targeted business objectives, enabling her to foster engaged, high-performing teams and drive sustainable growth.

An alumna of Gadjah Mada University with a background in Computer Science, she is now pursuing a Master’s degree at the IPB School of Business, reflecting her commitment to continuous learning—regardless of age. Her leadership style balances empathy with a focus on results, making her a trusted voice among leaders.

Throughout her career in both multinational and local organisations in Indonesia, Ulya has demonstrated how the strategic integration of human approach and business targets can create workplaces that are innovative, resilient, and people focused.
